Gutter Covers Which We Recommend And Install 1 – Under the shingle, Flat, Aluminum gutter screens (lower cost); These work well on most homes, will not fall off your house, and generally not visible from the ground; you should still clean the gutters regularly, but they will prevent clogging. A Summary Of Gutter Protection Products On The Market Today 1 - Plastic or Vinyl Covers Both screens and solid covers can be purchased in plastic and vinyl. It is our opinion and experience that there plastic products do not hold up to the heat from the sun and deteriorate rapidly. They are commonly found, folded down into the gutter creating further gutter obstruction, or extremely brittle and falling apart, often after just one year. We do not recommend or install these products. 2 – Metal Screens A) Older style clip on metal screens:  low cost, have some benefits, don't work well on all gutters, it will still be necessary to clean your gutters regularly. B) Under the shingle, flat aluminum screens: these work well in most cases, will not fall off your house, and generally not visible from the ground; you should still clean the gutters regularly, but they will prevent clogging.
